Education Styles: Charlotte Mason

"Our aim in education is to give a full life."

Charlotte Mason

Based on the teachings of homeschooling pioneer Charlotte Mason. She believed that there was a better way to teach children and stimulate a love for learning and retaining knowledge than the traditional system. Charlotte Mason is a style of homeschooling that emphasizes that children should not to be filled up with facts, but to interact with ideas and knowledge through "living books", nature walks, journaling, narration, art, music, and good habits.

It's a very child centered, observational approach to education that has intentionality and purpose behind each activity and/or topic. For an effective, true to Charlotte Mason Philosophy, there are 20 principles one can follow to guide a "CM" Educational experience.

Known for being religious, but it can also be implemented secularly.
