Using Digital Doom to Our Advantage

Spoiler Alert...there's a freebie!

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been feeling some heaviness around social media lately. Not the content that’s being shared, but just the fact that it’s become an alternate reality—for lack of a better term.

…or maybe that’s exactly what it is.

We so easily put so much focus into a screen—a portal of sorts—that takes our eyes off of what’s in front of us and into another world.

We know there’s a spiritual realm and a physical realm…did we create a digital realm? 🥴 Pretty sure we did.

And this is not to say that it’s all bad. I think I can speak for all of us when I say we’ve learned one beneficial thing or another from scrolling. I can confidently say that, for me, my family’s health has changed dramatically for the better from things I’ve come across on instagram. It’s also opened my eyes to all the different parenting styles and strategies—we won’t get into that though lol….yet 😉 but I think that has absolutely had a positive impact on my family.

There’s most definitely a fine line, though, isn’t there? One single post or comment can throw us straight into a rabbit hole. Just me? 😂

30 seconds of scrolling quickly morphs into hours of a deep dive into the abyss. I’m guilty of this.

A long way to say…I want to bring it back home.

Bring my energy back home.

Bring my focus back home.

Bring my curiosity back home.

Bring my creativity back home.

Bring my intention back home.

Bring my motivation home.

And bring my kids home, of course.

You might be thinking YES totally on the same page, but you’re telling us this through ANOTHER app you got hundreds of parents to sign up for. Seems hypocritical.

You have a point, but here’s the thought process behind this. We want to equip parents with the tools, support and confidence to bring their kids back home under their roof. Away from the system that sees them as a number, and into a learning environment where parents have a say and where your family values *actually* matter.

We wanted to use this platform because you can open it up, find encouragement and hope for your children and not get bombarded with ads, news, “suggested posts,” and horror stories that are DESIGNED to draw your attention somewhere else.

No distractions, no fear mongering, no trash to take up space in your brain.

This is a place where, yes, we’re using the digital realm to our advantage. To build virtual community—which is a huge benefit of social media, and one of the things we believe it should be used for.

But we’re not stopping there, we’re connecting like-minded families who can create meaningful face-to-face relationships. In person, real life, physical realm fulfillment 🧡 away from our screens.

When you follow this framework, it’s almost impossible to not see the value it adds to your life as an individual, as a family, as a friend, as a parent. Speaking from experience! We will never get tired of witnessing more and more parents collaborate and come together to build something incredible for their kids.

And on that note! In an effort to contribute to less screen time for all of us, I made you this little freebie that I’ve been loving. I used to keep ALL my recipes on my phone, 99% of them on Pinterest. I’m over it 😂 I want to go back to handwritten everything, physical books in my hand, it’s just so much better. Less distracting, more intentional.

This printable recipe card template has one option to type in your recipes and print, and another option to print blanks and write them in. You can also change the fonts and colors etc. to fit your vibe

These are the things we can pass down to our kids! I don’t see us passing down a Pinterest board 😂 and what would we do if there was a complete grid blackout? I know some of you have been down that rabbit hole 🙃

I hope you love it!
